Police: Man entrusted with slot machines stole 700,000 euros

ROME – A 54-year-old man from Busto Arsizio north of Milan was placed under investigation in February on suspicion of pocketing some 700,000 euros from the slot machines he was employed to collect proceeds from.

He used the cash to feed a luxurious life style, police said.

He had powerful sports cars and frequented pubs and clubs where Serie A soccer stars were regular customers, they said.

Police issued a seizure order for 707,000 euros against the man.

They also banned him from working with the civil service for 12 months.
