Opera at the Beach will benefit earthquake relief

REHOBOTH BEACH — UNICO Rehoboth Area’s annual fund-raiser Opera at the Beach will raise funds to assist relief efforts in the aftermath of the Aug. 24 earthquake in central Italy. The event begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, King Charles Avenue in Rehoboth.

Mezzo-soprano Andrea Arena, who will return for her third UNICO-sponsored concert appearance in Rehoboth Beach, will perform duets with noted tenor Dante Fiore, accompanied by pianist Matthew Jewell.

A paid reception with the performers will follow in the church hall. Food and wine will be available.

All proceeds will be donated to UNICO National Foundation Disaster Relief Fund and delivered personally to the survivors in Amatrice, Italy. Additional donations may be made with checks payable to UNICO National Foundation (memo Disaster Relief Fund), sent to UNICO Delaware District Governor, 103 Strawberry Way, Rehoboth Beach, Del. 19971.

Tickets for the event are available online at www.eventbrite.com. Concert admission is $25, concert with reception $50.
