Ferrari touts ‘unique’ fi rst electric model

ROME – The first electric Ferrari, scheduled to come off production lines in 2025, “will be a real Ferrari,” according to the automaker’s CEO Benedetto Vigna.

He said the batteries for the groundbreaking model of the Italian glamour sports car will be assembled at its Maranello HQ.

Ferrari President John Elkann said its cars will be “even more unique” with the move to electric engines.

Vigna also announced that the next conventional Ferrari, the Purosangue (Thoroughbred), will be produced starting this September.
