COLUMBUS DAY CEREMONY DETAILED

The Columbus Monument Committee announces that the annual Christopher Columbus Ceremony will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Monument, Harding Boulevard at Elmwood Park. The event will begin with the Parade of the Flags of the Regions of Italy by the Sons and and Daughters of Italy, Valley Forge LAM Chapter with music provided by the Norristown Verdi Band. The ceremony will begin at the conclusion of the Parade of Flags. There will be a keynote address. This ceremony has been held every year at the site since the dedication of the Christopher Columbus Monument celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Columbus discovery on Oct. 12, 1992.
