Holly Jolly POPS, a Philly POPS Christmas, features the spectacular sounds of the season. Hamilton star Mandy Gonzalez returns for her fourth Christmas with the POPS, joined by Broadway sensation and small-screen heart-throb Jordan Donica. Music Director and Principal Conductor David Charles Abell presents his usual dazzling, unique, and all-new program with over 300 performers, including The Philly POPS Festival Chorus, The Philadelphia Boys Choir, the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas Gospel Choir, and Santa! At Poppi’s Brick Oven Pizza & Kitchen’s Pizza Making Workshop, kids will create their own pizza for lunch. It’s a fun-filled class featuring trivia and pizza-themed activities, as well as step-by-step instructions on making their own pie by a member of the Poppi’s staff. At Yuletide at Winterthur, guests can tour rooms decorated in full holiday splendor in Henry Francis du Pont’s former home. This year’s tour includes several trees inspired by Christmas trees seen at the White House, in conjunction with the exhibition, “Jacqueline Kennedy and H. F. du Pont: From Winterthur to the White House.” Many displays are inspired by the traditions and festivities of the season as enjoyed by du Pont and his family. New this year is a toy train display, featuring Standard Gauge toy trains, presented by the Standard Gauge Module Association. “Modigliani Up Close” gives visitors to the Barnes Foundation a closer look at how Amedeo Modigliani created his paintings and sculptures. The exhibit explores the iconic artist’s working methods and materials, which contributed to his unique style.
