HOLLAND, Pa. – St. Bede the Venerable parish and Knights of Columbus Council 15478 present the sixth annual Padre Pio Festival from noon to 9 p.m. Sept. 18 and noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 19.
A family picnic with food, games and amusements kicks off the festival on Sept. 18. A mass and blessing and relics will follow at 5 p.m. before the Jersey Tenors present an evening concert at 7:30 p.m.
A Solemn High Mass begins at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 19, led by Rev. Pio Mandato, followed by a street procession and healing services with Padre Pio relics. Food, games, entertainment and amusements will continue until 6 p.m.
St. Pio of Pietrelcina was an Italian Franciscan friar and mystic who became famous for exhibiting stigmata – visions, ecstasies, unexplained wounds and purportedly levitating.
The festival takes place at St. Bede, 1071 Holland Road. Relics of Padre Pio will by on display all weekend for prayer and reflection.
Free parking will be available, and pilgrim buses are welcome.
