Al Alberts would approve

Jennifer Johnson was among the students presented with scholarships recently by the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia. Eligible students must study radio, film production and associated fields. Broadcast Pioneers board member Steve Sacks, who worked on the film crew of Al Alberts Showcase for more than 30 years, presented a $1,000 award to Jennifer that was donated by the entertainer’s niece Barbara Ann Zippi in honor of his 100th birthday. Alberts’ program featured local talent and aired on WPVI in Philadelphia for nearly 35 years.
